You can't transfer less than 1,000, and transfers must be in increments of 1,000.
Instant — usually under a minute
This transfer pair is marked instant and typically posts within seconds to a few minutes. Even so, occasional system delays happen — wait until you see the points in your destination account before doing anything else. These are typical times, not guarantees — always confirm award space first because transfers can't be reversed.

Points expiration
Chase UR: Ultimate Rewards points never expire while you hold an eligible Chase card. Close the account and points are forfeited.
Skywards: Emirates Skywards miles expire 3 years from the month earned, on a rolling basis. Gold/Platinum members get 5 years.
Heads up: your Chase UR points don't expire, but Skywards points (after transfer) do.
Step by step
  1. 1
Log in to Chase Ultimate Rewards

  2. 2
Pick the card whose points you want to transfer
If you hold multiple Ultimate Rewards cards, choose the one with the points balance you want to move. Only Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, and Ink Business Preferred can transfer to airline partners — Freedom cards alone cannot.
  3. 3
Open the menu and click Transfer to Travel Partners
Click the hamburger menu (☰) in the top left. In the dropdown, find and click "Transfer to Travel Partners".
  4. 4
Find Skywards in the Airlines list and click Transfer Points
Scroll the Airlines list to Skywards — the ratio is 1:1 — and click the Transfer Points button on its row.
  5. 5
Choose the recipient and enter your Skywards member number
Pick yourself as the recipient (or an authorized household member — names must match Skywards exactly). Type your Skywards member ID twice to confirm.
  6. 6
Enter how many points to transfer
Points move in 1,000-point increments. Type the amount and click Continue.
  7. 7
Review and click Confirm & Submit
Double-check the points amount and recipient. Transfers are final and can't be reversed — confirm award availability on Skywards.com before submitting. Click Confirm & Submit.
