Points expiration
Chase UR: Ultimate Rewards points never expire while you hold an eligible Chase card. Close the account and points are forfeited.
Skywards: Emirates Skywards miles expire 3 years from the month earned, on a rolling basis. Gold/Platinum members get 5 years.

Step by step
- 1Log in to Chase Ultimate RewardsGo to ultimaterewards.com (or chase.com → "Use Points") and sign in with your Chase username and password.
- 2Pick the card whose points you want to transferIf you hold multiple Ultimate Rewards cards, choose the one with the points balance you want to move. Only Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, and Ink Business Preferred can transfer to airline partners — Freedom cards alone cannot.
- 3Open the menu and click Transfer to Travel PartnersClick the hamburger menu (☰) in the top left. In the dropdown, find and click "Transfer to Travel Partners".
- 4Find Skywards in the Airlines list and click Transfer PointsScroll the Airlines list to Skywards — the ratio is 1:1 — and click the Transfer Points button on its row.
- 5Choose the recipient and enter your Skywards member numberPick yourself as the recipient (or an authorized household member — names must match Skywards exactly). Type your Skywards member ID twice to confirm.
- 6Enter how many points to transferPoints move in 1,000-point increments. Type the amount and click Continue.
- 7Review and click Confirm & SubmitDouble-check the points amount and recipient. Transfers are final and can't be reversed — confirm award availability on Skywards.com before submitting. Click Confirm & Submit.
